COBRA – Pod

COBRA – Pod reinterprets the iconic, flowing design language of the original COBRA staircase in a completely new way. Inspired by organic forms, this innovative design replaces the classic stair stringers with a series of individually shaped, oval elements that follow the curved line of the staircase.

Each individual stringer element is characterised by gently rounded sides and flat top and bottom surfaces. The separately arranged elements form a harmonious, rhythmic structure along both sides of the staircase. This creates an extraordinary sense of lightness, giving the staircase an almost floating appearance despite its striking form.

The warm wood tones of the steps provide an elegant contrast to the smooth, white-lacquered surfaces of the sculptural stringer elements. The frameless glass balustrade is integrated directly into the individual elements via a concealed groove. This creates an almost seamless transition between the glass and the supporting structure, with no visible fixings whatsoever.

The result is an extraordinary designer staircase that combines the elegance of the original COBRA with a new dimension of movement, transparency and spatial depth.
