Encapsulating Materials in Glass

The lamination process allows various materials to be enclosed between the panes, including natural fibres, textile fibres and even stainless-steel brackets.

The load-bearing glass panels can be used for staircase or balustrade guarding, adding distinctive architectural detail. Laminating the fixings into the glass provides a smooth outer surface that is exceptionally easy to clean. The result is also more visually harmonious, as no stainless-steel or steel components protrude beyond the face of the glass. Integral threaded inserts make it possible to create particularly sculptural staircases such as our FLY model, in which straight glass panels form a curved stair. This helps to reduce costs, as curved glass is considerably more expensive for this type of application.
