An all-glass staircase typically comprises load-bearing glass treads and finely detailed glass balustrades. Visible metalwork is reduced to an absolute minimum and, if required at all, is confined to discreetly integrated point fixings between the tread and the wall or glass screen. In especially purist versions, such as the LONDRA model, steel and stainless-steel elements can be omitted altogether.
All-glass staircases can be incorporated into the widest variety of architectural schemes—whether straight, curved, half-turn or quarter-turn, with or without a glass landing. Complex forms, including helical staircases such as the SKY-SCREW model, likewise demonstrate the material’s versatility in both design and engineering.
