Technical details:

Cantilevered stair in fair-faced concrete. The surface has an R9 slip-resistance classification, and the treads are impregnated to prevent possible staining from moisture. 

Special concrete mix with additives (fibres) for stability

Treads made to measure.

Concealed fixing to the wall; the wall may remain fair-faced concrete or be plastered

We must be involved in the planning process to allow for the fixing system! The lead time is 10 to 12 weeks from order confirmation.

Cantilevered fair-faced concrete stair passes load tests (2011):

The newly developed cantilevered concrete tread has just been subjected to a load of 350 kg and passed the test. With a tread thickness of only 8 cm (at widths up to 950 mm; 10 cm at widths up to 1,200 mm), it is the thinnest cantilevered concrete tread currently capable of being manufactured.

The concrete stair has a sophisticated internal composition. To provide the necessary structural performance, additional components are incorporated into the concrete at a defined concentration. Repeated trials enabled us to establish the correct formulation and make the ‘high-tech’ concrete tread fully functional.

Design:

Adding LED-lit glass or fine timber gives the stair an ultra-modern appearance. Equally, fair-faced concrete can provide the finishing touch to a modern home and is currently very much in vogue.
