Sky-Screw

The ‘Sky-screw’ spiral stair takes staircase design in a new direction. Its upward-sweeping, rotating-propeller appearance can be realised in glass, timber and our high-tech concrete.

Glass spiral stair:

The glass treads comprise individual panes of varying sizes, bonded using a specialist interlayer similar to that employed in load-bearing glass elements. Every pane has its own form and is oval to make the stair as comfortable to climb as possible.

Various design elements can be used to create different treatments. The treads may be illuminated individually or as a whole with LEDs, or just the plinth at the foot of the stair can be lit, allowing the spiral stair to appear to ‘float’ on light.

Further glass, formed in curved or short straight sections, can be used for the balustrade.

Concrete spiral stair:

Our specially developed ‘high-tech’ concrete mix allows the same appearance to be achieved as a concrete stair. Adding marble dust gives the stair either the look of genuine marble or that of an innovative synthetic surface. Both options have their own distinctive appeal.

Timber spiral stair:

As with our Pentagon model, the Rotor timber stair is made partly by hand. Any timber species can be used to give the stair the right look for your home. Painting it in colours such as black or white gives the timber stair a more contemporary character, whilst blue, red or yellow creates a bold, vivid effect.
